We had a wonderful Read Across America Week on February 27-March 3! The week began with author Chrissy McGregor, who wrote Aslan Lives His Best Life, came in to speak with grades K-4. She also brought in her adorable dog and star of the book, Aslan! Chrissy read the book to the kids, answered questions and let the kids meet Aslan. A fun thing we learned is that two of our students are in the book! How exciting! All pictures from the this fun assembly and our students in the book are below:
Another fun thing from the week was that on Dr. Seuss’ Birthday, students and faculty were able to dress up as their favorite Dr. Seuss character or favorite book character! Everyone’s costumes looked great! Below are just a small portion of photos from the day and more can be found on Facebook:
We also had a bookmark competition! Students from every grade were asked to create a bookmark which were then voted on. It was such a difficult decision because all of our students are so talented! Below are the winners from K-8:
